pathwayIn a world like ours today, leadership is extremely crucial. Men are searching for answers. Men are looking out for those they can truly trust to provide what is lacking. No wonder Proverbs 24:26 says, “Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer”. The world is tired, but hitherto has had to make do with trial and error methods. It desires a man who will get it right all the time. It seeks to follow such a man. It is my prayer that you would become that man in your generation in Jesus name.

I agree that everyman may not be a leader, but every child of God has the capacity for leadership. That is why Ephesians 2: 10 says “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” You and I, as God’s children, born again, filled with the Holy Spirit and heaven bound were each created as a master piece, to showcase uncommon wisdom and lead by good and godly example.

A leader is one who leads. He is the one with the vision. He coordinates a team to ensure that every piece of the puzzle comes together effectively and efficiently. He is the one who knows the end to be achieved and is capable of communicating it to his team, providing the necessary direction and motivation and even recognizing and harnessing the potentials of individual team members all in a bid to achieve that perceived and predetermined end.

A global leader is one leader who is capable of meeting needs beyond his natural and national background and boundary. He is a well-groomed professional who is proficient at operating in international and multicultural contexts. He is one who provides long lasting solutions that can be adapted with success far beyond his locality. He is one who is not as concerned about being a winner as he is about making people winners. In other words, he sees himself as truly successful, not by what he has achieved for himself but by what others can and do achieve by the foundation he has laid.

To become a true global leader, let us look at seven pathways you must engage simultaneously.

  1. The Pathway of Love:

You cannot be trusted as a leader if you are not a lover. People did not follow Jesus anyhow. They knew He always cared enough to do something. They knew He had the capacity and was always willing to change their lives. You should really ask yourself to find out how much of the attributes of love you have in you. Are you always willing to give? God so loved the world that He gave… Love attributes according to the Message bible translation in 1Cor 13: 4- 8 is “Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” “Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end. Love never dies.” If you must lead globally, you must truly become selfless and be seen to be selfless indeed. I must however whisper it to you that you cannot truly love if you do not have the God of Love abiding in your heart. No Jesus, no love. Know Jesus and then you will become capable of loving.

  1. The Pathway of Vision:

No one stumbles into leadership, talk less of global leadership and remains on top without vision. You may inherit a company or even a church from your founding father but without vision, you will ruin everything. Isaac in Genesis 25: 5 got the inheritance while his step brothers got only gifts from Abraham but because he was without vision, he lost everything to famine and was ready in Chapter 26 to run to Egypt because famine had caught up with him. With one vision and instruction from the Lord however, his life turned around and in verse 12- 13 of that chapter it is written, “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:” Isaac became the envy of the nations, round about because of the force of vision. You need to have a global vision to become a global leader. God’s vision is for the world; that is why “He so loved the WORLD that He gave His only begotten son…” Bishop has an international vision for Chapel of Freedom International Churches; that is why the word ‘international’ is included in its name. It is the global vision of Coca-Cola that has made the drink an international drink today. If you have no desire to lead the world, you will never lead the world.

  1. The Pathway of Knowledge and Research:

The Apostle Paul told Timothy, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2Ti 2:15). If you must be at the lead, you must be full of knowledge. You cannot lead people who know more than you. 1Chronicles 12:32 says, “and of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.” The children of Issachar were few but knowledge gave them power over many. You must strive to be among the few who have what it takes to take the lead.

The world is changing and you must be able to bring to the table relevant and timely solutions. You must master trends in order to make accurate predictions. You must be able to peep into the future to bring about inventions that will meet future requirements.

You need to get to know and update your knowledge about peoples, nations, cultures and so on. You need to read up foreign articles, watch foreign news and so on. You may even need to learn a foreign language or two. You need to know the international aspects of your business so you can penetrate the market beyond your nation.

The point here is that you must become a constant researcher and knowledge seeker. It is what you know above others that places you above them.

  1. The Pathway of Followership:

True leaders are not self-made people. To be a true leader, you must as well be a true follower. If you follow well, you will lead well. True followers achieve more than those who try to learn everything from the scratch. You cannot be a global leader without a mentor. It takes a mentor to feed you with relevant history beyond the scope of the books. It takes a mentor to teach you discipline. It takes a mentor to give you a solid foundation upon which to build, a shoulder to climb upon for a sharper and a more far reaching vision. The disciples of Jesus took the gospel work to the nations. They even out performed Jesus, Yes! The shadow of Peter healed the sick and cast out devils; this was in line with Jesus’ will. He was their mentor who told them in John 14:12, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;…” Life can be truly hard and full of torments without a true mentor. Your pastor can mentor you. A Christian business man in church can mentor you. Pray and be led to your mentor for your future depends on it but you do not have to look too far; you are already blessed to have our father the Bishop. If you get closer to him, you will see the mentor you have been missing.

  1. The pathway of Service:

A major driving force for leadership is service delivery. An attractive office complex or website may be attractive but it takes service delivery to keep the people coming. To become a global leader, you must focus on delivering to your customers or clients value for their time, money and faith in you. The day you stop putting their satisfaction first, you start losing their patronage. You cannot stay on God’s payroll if you don’t have a heart of service. Your service to the people of God is God’s proof that you love Him. He told Peter, “if you love me, as you say you do, then feed my sheep.” If you truly have the heart of a servant, you would always know what is needed and that way, you will be able to provide it and in providing it, you will always remain in demand.

  1. The Pathway of Hard work and Diligence:

We live in a generation where hard work has lost its value because of the get-rich-quick syndrome but no matter how times may have changed, the standard of hard work and diligence cannot be overlooked. Many who have thrown it overboard achieved greatness but fell like a pack of cards after a while, unable to rise up again and dieing untimely deaths. That will not be your portion in Jesus name. Proverbs 22: 29 makes it crystal clear, “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” You may get a job or other opportunity by one connection or the other but you may only remain relevant and retain such a job by the results you produce. No foreign investor will do business with you if they ever get a hint that you are a lazy person.

  1. The Pathway of Prayer: Prayer is accessing divine power to get impossible things done. It is joining forces or partnering with God to be able to do what humans cannot on their own do. God knows what the world needs. God knows what will be relevant tomorrow and only He can reveal it to you today, in the place of prayer of course. God says in Jeremiah 33: 3, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” He says that because, you, truly can move mountains, but that would not be possible by “…by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts” (Zec 4:6). Daniel and his friends were reduced to mere slaves but by engaging the force of prayer in Daniel 2: 18, they were able to provide the needed solution to the king’s dilemma and in that way, they saved the heads of all the so called wise men of Babylon.

The world is waiting for you. You have been created for your time. Your legacy could become generational if you will diligently engage these pathways. Every man who dares to be God loving and God fearing, visionary, teachable, service driven, diligent and prayerful in all his ways will take over and stay at the lead. I see you crisscrossing national boundaries making positive impact in Jesus name. I hear your name ringing bells and opening doors even long after you have passed on after a very good old age in Jesus name. What am I saying? I see you metamorphosing into a truly global leader in Jesus name. See you at the top.
