I have discovered that it is almost always natural to doubt that what we desire is impossible because we do not have personal experiences to back up their possibilities. Even when we hear testimonies to the effect, we still tend to find one reason or two why it would not apply to us. The most painful one is that even when we have similar but seemingly smaller testimonies, we tend to think that the issue at hand is more difficult and so God would not be able to do it. We doubt the universality of the application God’s word and this is always to our hurt. Such thoughts are not from God. They are demonic and I come against them today, right now in Jesus name. Today, receive the ability to think and believe for good things in Jesus name.
You can imagine how the children of Israel who saw God deal with Egypt ten times would become so scared that their fear would becloud their faith in God to see them through the Red sea. After the Red sea was over, they unbelieved at the waters of Mara, then they doubted about food and after the manner, they asked, “can God set a table in the wilderness?”
You need to understand that God is God. He will never deny Himself. If He couldn’t make you a success, He wouldn’t have created you and even called you. If He couldn’t help you, you wouldn’t even be here reading this piece in the first place.
The devil is a devil but God is God. The devil BRINGS temptations to make you fall but God ALLOWS the devil to do so knowing you can overcome by Him, so you can grow. What God requires of you is that you would always tap or queue into your past experience of His faithfulness and deduce that He who is the same yesterday, today and forever will as He did before, help you to get another victory over the devil. Take this- God will never let the devil tempt you beyond what He (God) has prepared you for.
Now, consider the case of a young man who just got favored by God for a good job after a rather long search. His joy will be unspeakable no doubt but you see, every time he looks at his employment letter and sees the conditions of service stated therein, especially the part that has to do with his salary, his first reaction is usually to smile then comes the doubt- ‘will this company really pay me this whole lot of money?’
You can imagine a man or lady who is getting ready for wedding. All through even until they arrive at church and the joining takes place on the wedding day, the question that will be ravaging the mind is- ‘so I am really going to get wedded?’
They allow their joyful thoughts or excitement at the job, admission, the wedding and so on to get marred or discolored by the past experiences that were not so good. What they do not know is that they are limiting themselves from greater levels of glory.
You must never catch yourself doubting that God might not finish what He has started to do in your life. You must never tell yourself that your blessing might actually be a dream that is just a figment of your imagination. If you catch yourself doubting, you have to rebuke yourself and just begin to rejoice in the truth that the path of the just is like a shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto a perfect day. You need to overcome you doubt by declaring 1Peter 5:10 “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you”.
Beloved, God, the bible says is at work in you (Philippians 2:13) and you need to remind yourself that God never gets distracted from His work. He says in Jeremiah 1:12 “… I will hasten my word to perform it”. In Ezekiel 12:25 He says “For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD”.
No matter how rough life has treated you. I want you to know that your case is not yet concluded. How can it be concluded when you have not won? God says in Jeremiah 29:10- 11 “For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Do not conclude that you will rot in Babylon. Do not even think that the ‘little’ good you have seen and are even grateful for is all there is to God’s hand upon your life. I see you entering into a new level. Can you see it? I do. Beyond your clouds, the sun is coming up. The storms are passing away and a new day is dawning. Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert (Isa 43: 18- 19).There is yet another level and after that there is yet another and another… you will get there in Jesus name.
