Bishop (Dr.) John Ibenu


baba copyBishop (Dr.) John Ibenu trained as a medical Doctor at the Ahmadu Bello University, (ABU) Zaria. He worked with the Kogi State Ministry of Health between 1992 and April 2001 when he voluntarily retired from service for full pastoral duties as the General overseer of Chapel of Freedom International Churches, also known as Jesus Love Cathedral, Lokoja.

He was initially an itinerant preacher between 1981 and 1992. During this period, he traveled extensively within Nigeria, powerfully preaching and teaching the word of God and getting people saved, healed and set loose from bondage.

He is married to Rev. (Mrs.) Margaret Ajuma Ibenu and they are blessed with four children- Mercy, Ibe, Joshua and Sharon.

He was ordained a Reverend by Bishop (Dr.) David Oyedepo of the Living faith Church on November 17, 1991 at Kaduna, Nigeria and was consecrated as Bishop by Arch bishop (Dr.) Sam Amaga on the 28th July, 2001.

Under his leadership, Chapel of Freedom International Churches has grown into five districts with full overseers.

Dr. John Ibenu is a member of several associations viz:

· The Nigerian Medical and Dental council· International Covenant Ministerial Council (ICMC) with over 300 member churches of which he is National President

· International Charismatic Bible Ministries (USA)

· Trans Atlantic and Pacific Alliance of Churches (UK) and

. Global Gospel Fellowship (UK)
